Success Story:
Friedman, Billings, Ramsey Group, Inc (investment bank)
The challenge in designing this annual report for a young
and successful investment bank was to make it stand out from
the conservative competition. It was also the first annual
report for the company, so a lot of client education as to
the process was necessary. It was also imperative that they
position themselves appropriately in the market.
The concept I came up with was to emphasize their vibrant,
energetic corporate culture, which they believe is the reason
for their success. This creative culture is symbolized throughout
by the use of stylized silhouettes juxtaposed against real-life
depictions of the business.
The 42-page report was completed in a whirlwind 6 weeks--from
concept through to completion. As sole designer, I was responsible
for everything--concepts, design layouts, photo illustrations
and production. The client was so pleased with the outcome
that numerous new projects were awarded. They are now ranked
as a top 10 national investment bank.
