MSC Systems
MSC Systems is a small locally owned "mom & pop" shop
that designs and installs sound and lighting systems for
churches, theatres, and public events.
The company consists
of a husband and wife with a crew of less than ten people.
Like most small businesses, they approached marketing on
an "as-needed" basis with standards of quality
or consistency.
When I first met them, they were creating
a brochure in... gulp... MS Word, printing it on a desktop
inkjet printer, and mailing about 150 to potential clients.
I explained that spending a little money on design and printing
would have a tremendous impact on the value of their marketing
efforts. I also explained that the poor effort was wasted
time and money, while our solution would be an investment
-- not an expense.
We took over their small mailing on a monthly
basis with a nice simple 2-color mailer mailed to their
list of 150 leads.
That was in 1995. The most recent piece we did was a 24"x12" 8-page
self-mailer printed CMYK plus metallic and Aqueous coating
... and mailed to 8,000 prospects. They saw that a consistent
investment in developing and presenting a quality image would
pay in time. And it did. |
