The Solution:
As soon as this client mentioned the name 'Glove Mobile,'
I knew what her new business name should be. My design quote
included the suggestion for a name change for her company. I
suggested 'GloveMobile.com'. She agreed to the new direction
and our quote, so we began work.
Since nearly all her business
is related to the medical services industry, we targeted that
arena for our concept and solution.
The identity at a quick read appears to be a red cross, but
on a secondary read you'll notice the design motif is actually
gloves.
The new company name is clever and speaks toward the service
they provide, and the new slogan we developed plays off the
whole medical theme.
Our client's van was green, and she gave
us complete creative control so we had it painted white
and applied the new identity
to it so that it appears to look like a medical type of vehicle
without getting into trouble with local emergency services.
On the hood we flipped her logo to read backwards so those
viewing
from their rear view window will read it correctly. Perception
is everything so adding the number 7 to the vehicle was our
subtle way of intimidating her competition. ;-)
We will eventually
redesign the look of the web site to match everything else.

Alina's Feedback:
What a striking transformation! When I look at the client's
original identity, it tells me nothing about her business
or services, nor even what field she is in. I don't know
if she's providing a product or service, nor do I know what
kind... just something about safety
which could be any number of products/services. There is
little that is memorable about her identity. The colors are
bland, and, while an image of Mary is personable, it's not
completely a reason to investigate her business further.
If I'm in search of a product, it doesn't help me out to
have a photo of Mary as the main source of information.
Von's redesign makes it very clear what her business does
and what industry it's in. The use of the red glove hands
in the shape of a red cross provides a succinct communication
of GloveMobile.com.
