Background:
David Pitts came to me wanting to add "Starring Nancy Pitts"
to his radio show logo, but wanted the logo to look the same.
The previous design made it very hard to add the statement
without making the design look crowded.
Before:

Solution:
The solution was to create an all new logo using the same
color scheme and some of the same elements. The end result
is a more organized design that incorporated "Starring
Nancy Pitts" but didn't overpower "The David Pitts
Show." The microphone doesn't look like it is just
stuck in like clip art and has become part of the logo. There
were three fonts that were used in the design of first logo,
but using two fonts is more visually pleasing.

Alina's Feedback:
Calvin's new design encourages one to see the
logo in a strong first read. We immediately know it's a radio
show due to the strength of the microphone, and that David
and Nancy Pitts produce the show. The hierarchy is microphone
> Kirradio.com > David Pitts Show > Nancy Pitts. In the previous
logo, we see David's name first due to the larger font size,
the radiating rays and perspective lines. Then our eye follows
the oval to the microphone and back to the real estate tagline.
Calvin was able to incorporate "starring Nancy Pitts" into
the logo, but I'm a little concerned about its legibility,
particularly if it is reduced in size much. Calvin met the
specs of the job in a bold solution.
