How do I sign up?
Simple. Click your heels together three times and repeat,
'There's no place like Creative Latitude, there's no place
like Creative Latitude', then click on How
to join. Piece of cake.
How many people are involved in Creative Latitude?
At the time of this writing we have more than 50 members.
Care to be the next one?
If I join up, do I have to do anything?
Well, there was that initiation ritual with the goat
and 13 black candles. It got awfully messy though, so we had
to discontinue it. We do appreciate our members' involvement
and there are a couple of things you can do. We all try to
pitch in as needed. We're a pretty democratic group, so if
you join you'll receive email updates whenever we put stuff
to a vote. We also encourage our members to practice ethical
business standards. You can read more about it here.
Beyond this, we do ask that you set up a reciprocal links
page on your site and perhaps send out an occasional press
release to your local media. The links page is important since
it will ultimately help both you and others in the group gain
better search engine positioning. We suggest creating a links
page and populating it with links to others in the group.
It's your choice who to include. Others will then link to
your site.
Does joining cost me any dough?
Nope. We're free as free can be. On occasion, you may
be asked to send a news release to your local media. If you
choose to do so, each member pays for their own postage.
I'm a client type. How do I know if you folks are any
good?
'Good' and 'bad' is pretty subjective and Creative Latitude
can't make that kind of judgment call. We're not an accreditation
organization. For the most part though, if you peruse the
listings, we're pretty confident you'll find someone who's
just the right fit for your project.
What is the lateral airspeed of the Spine-tailed Swift?
220 mph (You didn't think we'd know, did you?)
As a creative, how will joining Creative Latitude help
me?
A. We want it to be good for you too, so here's how Creative
Latitude can help you:
- You get a nifty listing in the Profile
section.
- You get a link to your site.
- If you choose to participate in the press release campaign,
you can add your company name as the local contact. You
can also add your company within the content of the release
as applicable.
- If you choose, you can add the Creative Latitude logo
to your site. This identifies you as a member of a group
that adheres to ethical business standards and comic relief.
As time marches on, Creative Latitude will build a greater
awareness and you'll reap the rewards of the promotional
efforts.
As a client, what's the benefit for me with Creative Latitude?
You need designers, writers, and others to communicate
your message. We've got 'em. And, we've got 'em all over the
place. Need a designer in SE Asia? No problem. How about a
writer in Seattle? Creative Latitude's got you covered.
Creative Latitude provides a nice and tidy kind of one-stop
shopping for your creative needs. It's one of the main things
that makes us different. You could spend a lot of time going
to designer, writer, photographer, etc. Web directories, but
isn't your time better spent working on your core responsibilities?
When you have a need for creative input, Creative Latitude
is your single source solution in a jiffy.
A jiffy, by the way is an actual unit of time. 1/100th of
a second. See? We're not only creative, we can amply supply
you with trivia.
What's another word for Thesaurus?
We get asked this all the time! What's the big deal here?
We checked the thesaurus and there ain't no other word for
it. You can try 'catalog', though. It may get you by in a
pinch. Similarly, don't ask us for a rhyme for "orange."
What's up with all the misspellings? I thought you guys
were pros.
Well, aktually we are pros and thay ain't no misspeklings.
Creative Latitude, being the global force that it is, has
authors on a few continents. Although the site is written
in English, some writing may have a different flavour... er,
flavor... of English. We do try to look up everything in our
handy English-to-English dictionary, though. None the less,
you may run across "color" or "colour." Or perhaps you've
seen "organisation" and "organization." Pay it no mind and
rest in the fact that you're part of the global village.
You folks are great! How do you come up with all this
stunning work?
Ah! Glad you asked. In a word, "sleep deprivation."
Wait, that's two words. You get the idea, though. You can
do it too! All you need to do is drink lots and lots of coffee,
while alternately downing several cans of Mountain Dew®.
That'll keep you awake for days. Pretty soon you'll start
having the neatest hallucinations. If you're lucky you'll
start having conversations with Leonardo DaVinci. He'll give
you all sorts of great advice.
Or, he may just ask where he can get a decent cappuccino
in the spirit world.
