Background:
Natural Stone Care, as the name implies, renovates, maintains
and cleans all kinds of natural stone interior surfaces,
especially floors. Their
clients vary
from cleaning contractors to interior designers and architects in a variety
of locations including offices, museums, car showrooms, shopping
malls, embassies, airports and residential properties.
The company had a
website which they were rather unhappy with due to the
lack of leads generated from it. Key issues as far as I was
concerned included:
• Built in an unnecessary frameset
• Poor quality photographs
• Irrelevant content
• Cold and unwelcoming design
• No meta description for search engines
May I stress that this project
was very low budget. The client gave me URLs of a few competitors and sites
that he liked. We discussed the type of person who might
visit the site and agreed that the key values
to be communicated were:
• Quality of workmanship
• Ability to handle high profile projects
• Ability to work with any type of stone
• Maintenance and training available if required
I was supplied with a pile
of poor quality pictures that he thought might be useful and was told to use
the text from the old site.
